The actual printer driver does seem to load ok its just the CC3 software that wont run. CC3 will load into memory according to task manager but it wont show up in the tray or anywhere else where you can actually get to it. I tried an uninstall/reinstall of CC3 a couple of times last night in RC1 and the same thing happens. Keep in mind that this is a dual boot machine and when I boot vista ultimate on the exact same machine CC3 loads and runs just fine. So apparently it just wont run on my newest machine which uses an intel DP35DP motherboard and a quad-core Q6600 processor.

Last night I attempted to install RC1 on the older machine and it installed and ran just fine which is consistent with your experience. I have since also upgraded my older machine to W7 RC1 but hadn't tried installing CC3. I remembered that when CC3 installed properly with the W7 Beta it was on my older machine. Obviously running it in virtualXP is just a bridge until someone figures out how to make it run under W7. I did have to make some adjustments to open some ports in the XP Windows firewall so that the software could find the printer but other than that no problems. Anyhow until Brother gets this resolved, which may be a while knowing those guys, I decided to try and install the XP version of the Brother sofware under Virtual Windows XP. Strangely, I seem to remember it launching just fine under W7 Beta, just not the RC1. It wont show up in the task bar tray areas or anywhere else where you can see it or get to it. I can install the entire software package which handles scanning etc under every scenerio and it seems to install but when you go to launch the Brother control center 3 software it only shows up in the task manage.

I can load just the print driver under W7 RC1. I have a brother MFC9840 CDW mutifunction color laser.
